Common Ground Design Week 2016

Design Week Budapest 2016 is featuring the second edition of Common Ground, ann inclusive design exhibition. The present brands and designers have one thing in common: they are all working towards a better, more equal and integral world through design. Either they involve disabled or dispaired labor creating beautiful furniture, or they create jobs for marginalized communities in furniture restoration workshops, or they contemplate on rare conditions through clothing design- the outcome is a collection of high-quality, aesthetically pleasing objects. To offer an international, european perspective, we have brought together a selection of Hungarian and V4 projects and brands this time.

The exhibition is open: 29 September 2016 - 2 October 2016

Exhibited projects:

(Non-profit company working in Szeged, Hungary, creating refurbished, luxury furniture with young unemployed carpenter students.) 
(A furniture and home goods line, produced by youngsters with autism.) 
Interior design and home decoration objects designed by Hungarian designers and produced by communities with disabilities
Wallet designed for the visually impaired.
Design project that involves the inhabitants of a retirement home.
 Board game that allows players with and without sight to play together.

The exhibition is open from 29 September to 2 October on the 2nd floor (room 230)  of MAXCity Centre of Interior Design (2024, Törökbálint, Tópark u. 1/a). There is a talk linked to the exhibition on 1 October at 16.00 at the location of the exhibition. Open: 10-00-20.00, vasárnap 10.00-19.00.
