Ho(me)roscope: Home of Scorpio

Home of Scorpio (10.24 – 11.22.)

Scorpio is the eighth constellation of the zodiac. They believe that there is no one more passionate - or more dangerous - than the people born under this sign. Do we really need to muster up all our courage when we visit Scorpio, or are our concerns unfounded? Will we ever find it hidden in some forgotten basement on the outskirts of big cities, behind the seemingly secret gate of a country house overgrown with wild grapes, or in a modern building surrounded by a harsh stone wall standing like an impregnable fortress in no man's land? If we believe the legends surrounding the personalities of the sign's representatives, we are playing with fire by looking for Scorpio's company - even though its element is water. (A contradiction that hints at a lot!) His emotions are thus deep, abundant, even overflowing. In contrast to the dreamy Pisces, this is not a sentimentality lulling you into cloud-soft dreams, but rather an unbridled, bitter longing. Scorpio also has enormous energies that must be mobilized. This raging desire, power and urgent will must be channeled into some kind of channel at all costs, otherwise all hell will break loose around the Scorpio.

Even now, we can't get rid of the feeling that when we knock on the Scorpion, Dracula will open the door, whose bloodthirsty cruelty actually stems from the most devoted love that turns into infatuation, and his broken heart, his tormenting jealousy cries out for revenge?
Perhaps we are not far from the truth, but let's let our curiosity triumph and enter the strange home of our host! The solid-quality, introverted sign is ruled by two planets: underworld Pluto and warlike Mars. (Reading this, we probably still have a lump in our throat...)
The influence of the imposing planets is inevitably manifested in the use of dark, dramatic colors: sensual dark red tones (crimson, dragon's blood and wine red, burgundy) intermingle with rich maroon and night black. His furniture is also typically dark, often made of exotic wood: mahogany, rosewood, ebony, wenge, rosewood and American walnut are certainly the types that Scorpio likes. They can also be placed on the floor as a parquet that suggests solemnity, seriousness and authority. (There are also light shades as a contrast - this will make the interior attractive.)

Regarding the textiles, the above color palette is combined with exceptional, boudoir-worthy materials: velvet that is tempting to caress, cool satin. The decorative patterns are mostly suggestive and mysterious - borrowed from the mystical cultures of unknown landscapes.

Scorpio prefers one of the typical interior design styles of Middle Eastern and North African countries, such as glowing, pulsating Moroccans. You will definitely find exciting the bohemian line made wild with industrial elements, glamor made gloomy with neo-gothic, minimal mixed with ethno. Whether it's dressing yourself or your residence, leather is a favorite in your inventory. Because he is demanding of his environment, he will not say no to an expensive, sprawling set. Whether it's a modern, design piece or a patina Chesterfield, you'll stretch out on it with satisfaction. Soft, thick carpets are part of the soft comfort of your quiet home: monochromatic but richly structured types that pamper the soles from wall to wall or oriental specimens, colorful kilims, animal skins.

Richly carved handcrafted furniture impresses the Scorpio, as do those who get a glimpse of its realm. In the middle of his bedroom, there is often a four-poster bed with graceful columns: the overall picture gives a distinctly, but justifiably, theatrical impression, since passion is the master here, sleep is secondary.

The lush atmosphere is enhanced by the heavy draperies – semi-darkness falls on almost all the rooms. Scorpio can block out natural light with palettes, but only tolerates artificial light as dull mood lighting. Don't be surprised if you discover decorative objects made of iron in a corner - their raw power carries a symbolic meaning. Perhaps we can see more clearly now, and both the character of Scorpio and the atmosphere of the milieu surrounding him are outlined. Instead of a bloodthirsty vampire count in his Odon castle, we can imagine him resting on one of Mies van der Rohe's design classics, covered in black leather furniture (of course only for a short time, because he still has the capacity for so many things!), he can appear in our mind's eye as Casanova, with a bouquet of red roses for the coveted woman trying to sweep her off her feet (in the opposite case, she is pleasing and irresistible in the role of Mistress of Fate).

He may be an experienced winemaker with experience in the depths of cellars, a fearless sailor who spies the raging water from his cabin window - but perhaps our measured neighbor, the banker or the policewoman is also a representative of this passion-fuelled, sometimes wine-seeing ticket, and we can already see why it hasn't worked out so far. let's enter his private zone...
